Henry Roper Lane Jr. (76) of Balch Springs, Texas went home to the Lord January 26, 2018. He was born in Dallas, Texas on May 17, 1941.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Roper Lane Sr. & Elsie (Bailey) Lane Shanz and his brothers, Jimmy Murphy and Marvin (Buddy) Murphy.

Left with cherished memories are his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Betty Lane; daughter Kathryn Henderson; son Brady Lane & wife Teresa; daughter Sherry Stewart & husband Brad; daughter Kim; son Curtis Lane & wife Stephanie; grandchildren Lindsay, Taylor, Addison, Kendal, Branden, Bradley, Brent, Benjamin, Bethany, Todd, Tristan, Joe, Joshua, Chad, Alexis, Natalie, Travis and Garrett; 17 great grandchildren; sister Patsy Washman; brother Steven Lane and numerous nieces, nephews and other family loved ones and beloved friends.
While he was able and when time would allow, Henry enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved his Dallas Cowboys.
Henry was very proud of his military service. He faithfully and honorably served his country as an Army Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.
Henry enjoyed family gatherings and time with his family. He was the essence of a hard-working man and a proud protector of his family. He was loved by all and will be sorely missed.
